The Rock Hound

Anchor your human

In the extraction of a gem.

Make a close reading

of an unopened geode.

Try to read a book by its cover—

whack it on the fault line.

Eggs

I haven’t actually

broke an egg on

accident very often.

Normally,

I break them

intentionally

for a nice omelet,

a French toast,

a cake batter,

batter up.

5th Wall

If you lay on
your back the ceiling

is a wall.

Look at all the animals.

Alpha Female

She peaked out

of the pines,

head like a triangle.

Ancient triangle.

Wolves

There
are people

who live in the woods.
