Snakey in the Bluejay's Claw

It looks
like something

tried to find
God with a snakewhip.

How can you
blame an instrument?

How can you
blame a bluejay

when he poops
out of a cloud animal,

allegedly,

disrupting the Anthropocene?

Feeder

I anticipate
the shadows of birds.

This house
full of worlds.

Psalms

We live
amongst

this decay

in which
even churches

are condemned.

The first
thing to go

is the organ.

Sometimes,
in the silence

between

passing trains,
you can hear

the earth
reclaiming her songs.

Patty

All I remember
about my kindergarden

teacher is that she
was a huge old lady

with gigantic cellulite triceps.

The big bertha
of birth marks had risen

on her left arm.
My friend Mike said

it looked like a sausage patty.

               He was right.

Silverhawk

The city crumbles

round and
round.

The treeline
hangs

like scrap metal.

The crimson
horse is wheeling

In the
cryptic fringe--

this skyscape undertow.

2013

200 vertical
feet of sand

I climbed
a mulberry tree

and shook
the berries

into the small
pond below.

The birds
went wild.

Dogs came
from the east

and brought
news friends,

but what
are friends for?

I got my
heart ejected

with a snake
and started

running
I surfed once

and buried
a mermaid

swimmin
with women

I ended up
in southern

Indiana at
Turkey run

my eyes
where like

tennis balls
I took a bite

out of acceptance
with a silver spoon

and my
teeth cracked out

I shoveled mountains
of mulch

in preparation
for the new year

my work was hard,
but what

will this capital bring?

Abominable

Examine
the plaster

cast of
an ordinary man

who lurks
barefoot

in the deep
forbidden

the frightening
snow
