I
A frightened goat; perhaps, a man, a cave of diamonds. The eyes have been extracted, the body of a chupacabra, the moon's reflection trapped in an egg-pod. The great ape turns its rover over and over. This is how the city gets injected, the dead-horse wilderness is astral.
Jeff Tatay was born and raised in Mishawaka, IN, but now lives in the West where he is an MFA in Creative Writing candidate and an Environment and Natural Resource candidate at University of Wyoming. His writing and photography are inspired by the biological and natural world and his investigation of environment and place. His poetry has appeared in Arsenic Lobster, Clare Literary Journal, Indigo Rising Magazine, Obsession Literary Magazine, Wyoming Public Media's Spoken Words, Tract/Trace: An Investigative Journal and other publications.
