A plump robin
landed on the fence
in my backyard.
It slowly turned
its beak up in the air--
why is the sky blue?

- Jeff Tatay was born and raised in Mishawaka, IN, but now lives in the West where he is an MFA in Creative Writing candidate and an Environment and Natural Resource candidate at University of Wyoming. His writing and photography are inspired by the biological and natural world and his investigation of environment and place. His poetry has appeared in Arsenic Lobster, Clare Literary Journal, Indigo Rising Magazine, Obsession Literary Magazine, Wyoming Public Media's Spoken Words, Tract/Trace: An Investigative Journal and other publications.
